Is one of your dreams to have your own home based business?
I’ll share some information that might save you a lot of money and heartbreak if you can learn from my mistakes. That’s usually not the case but I’ll give it a shot. I understand that because I learned many lessons the hard way and in my own good time.
I have been an entrepreneur for as long as I remember. I’ve learned a lot about what it takes to be self employed. It really is not for everyone because of the discipline it requires.
But one thing I know for sure-I NEVER want to have a boss OR employees again! So I have tried many things to discover ways to make that possible. I don’t consider getting a job as an option.
You have to feel enough passion for something so that it drives you to work through the challenges.
Many people, myself included, are forced to work on self discipline with things like managing time better, maintaining balance between perfection and sloppiness, working when it’s time to work and playing when it’s time to play and learning when to say no to both.
One thing that many people discover when they become self employed is that they have created a situation that is worse than having a J-O-B.
Now they work all the time, have less money, full responsibility for everything and can’t see a way out. They don’t want to go back to having a job and they don’t want to continue living with the level of stress they feel with self employment.
So if you want to have a home based business, my best suggestion is to do some research before jumping in. Just because someone gave you a great sales pitch and told you how rich they got doesn’t mean it’s true or that the same thing will happen to you. Your background may not be anything like theirs and they may not be anything like you!
Don’t get into a financial situation where you have to pay the bills with income from your new home based business because it will probably take more effort and time than what you assumed, chose to believe or were led to believe. If you desperately need income, you will be much better off looking for another job than thinking you can instantly get something going at home. When things are new and unfamiliar, you are under tremendous pressure which sets off a stress response in your body. That energy is conveyed to people you hope to do with business with. They sense something that just doesn’t feel right so they don’t move forward with you.
The best thing you can do is to find something that seems really interesting to you, research it and then work on it consistently every day. Don’t fall into the trap that so many people fall into. They want to make money online so they start getting on email lists and teleseminars. A lot of those guys are good at building the dream in your head, then offering you a program so you can follow in their footsteps to great riches.
Some of the programs are really good and you can learn a lot. But if you have a tight budget, don’t believe that you will buy their program and then see a constant stream of money coming into your bank account that solves all your troubles.
